What I find interesting is how the evidence supports a more nuanced view of inositol than the usual “insulin resistance supplement” framing, it appears to sit at the intersection of metabolic and reproductive signalling. The uncertainty around formulation, duration, and evidence quality is also a useful reminder that biological plausibility can explain why something might work without telling us exactly who will benefit or how much.

Once we dive into the actual research, there is so much more than the oversimplified Instagram answers we see. I would say that the ovarian impact of Inositol is far more interesting than the insulin resistance - but we are somehow fixated on the metabolic route of PCOS, and if I were to guess, it is because of how much we are obsessed with weight.

Great to get a tangible, but scientifically sound deep dive into the mechanism! I take a 40:1 supplement of MI:DCI. It's been a game changer, and makes so much sense given the natural presence of epimerase in tissues.

I love that! It does! Also, the fact that our body creates it shows that it is not just a random supplement! What brand do you use?

I used to use Jooce, but now I use the Theralogix Ovasitol Inositol Powder. Both great. Purely based on availability!

Thank you for doing this! I just started taking inositol supplements and it’s helpful to keep up on the research

Love it! what formulation are you taking?

It’s a 40:1. 2000mg of MI and 100mg DCI a day over 2 servings. I’m using the ovafit brand

Amazing! If you ever change it a simple myinostol would also work

That’s so good to know! Thanks!
