Hello everyone,
May is almost over. We are almost halfway through the year, which is a bit crazy. I missed the review of April last month, so this is two in one. We have a lot of new people who joined us, so we do these monthly reviews of all of the articles and learnings from the previous month, sprinkled with a little life lesson from my side.
These two months’ life lessons:
We got a puppy last month. Picture below. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is how much pleasure and achievement you get from looking after someone. One of my biggest fears in becoming a mum is how much I would have to give up, to look after a human being. Getting Toffee made me realise that the act of caring it’s one of the most rewarding things.
Let’s dive into what we learnt in May:
1. Adiponectin
We have learnt about a hormone that is rarely discussed in PCOS but holds a lot of importance for our health.
2. Male Fertility
We had the 3rd episode of our Fertility session focused on Male fertility and why sperm is as important as our egg when trying to conceive.
3. On the go meal ideas
Knowing how to put together a balanced meal using only a supermarket is a superpower with the holidays season approaching.
4. The importance of blood sugar regulation for PCOS
A guest post on
‘s Nest Wellness Substack on the importance of insulin and blood sugar regulation for our condition.Let’s also recap what we learnt in April:
5. My thoughts on PCOS influencers
The world of social media is wild when it comes to health content. This is my take on influencers:
6. An interview with a gynaecologist about PCOS
I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Littleproud about her views on our condition and her advice on treatment.
7. 15 snack ideas for PCOS
Another nutrition jam on the best snacks for PCOS.
8. Will my daughter have PCOS?
We looked into the genetic link for PCOS and whether our daughters or sons might have PCOS.
I love writing these reviews as I realise how many things we go through in a month. I genuinely hope that these pieces of content are helping you manage this condition better and learn this thing we need to live with. If you find it valuable, consider becoming a paid subscriber to have access to all the tools you need to manage your condition and learn in an evidence-based manner.
