After learning about the supplement industry years ago, I stopped taking most of the supplements. I just don't feel as safe with them as I once did even though I'm very careful about where I would buy them or from what company. Also, when it comes to supplements, the placebo effect is real so it's hard to tell what benefits come from the supplement and what comes from my brain initially. Over the years, I've wasted so much money on the next best thing that ultimately didn't pay off. ~ Shelby

100%, the placebo effect is such a beautiful phenomenon. It shows the power of our mind if we focus on something.

I have also gone through similar transition with regards to supplements. I try to keep them to a minimum. Vitamin D is the only supplement that I take pretty much all year round.

I always thought it odd when the medical community discounts the placebo effect. It’s absolutely amazing.

It is indeed. The challenge is convince people to work with their mind. It often works on false beliefs (thinking a sugar pill it's a cure). How do you use it ethically it's probably a challenge.

Interesting! I take coQ10 and Mioxin which is an Italian supplement for PCOS with Ovasital and other vitamins.

Recently I’ve been hearing about Tru Niagen. I’ll need to scour the website.

Oh nice, I wrote an article on NAD -> https://www.thepcosnewsletter.com/p/pcos-and-nac-supplements

From a quick look at their website, they already have some of my trust: "The FDA successfully reviewed Niagen twice—in 2015 and 2018—under its New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification program, and our ingredient was successfully notified to the FDA as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) in 2016."
