Hello all,
Annnnnndddd…the last day of the year has arrived! 2023 is officially coming to a close. How was your year?
End-of-year reflections always give me mixed emotions. By default, each year will have its lows and ups and no matter what your year has been like, we need to acknowledge that time is passing, and it’s passing fast. Overall this has been a good year.
First and foremost, I want to thank you for reading the newsletter each week. I appreciate all of you who open the emails, read the newsletter, like my posts and drop me emails occasionally. Writing is not always easy, as you rarely see the person on the other side. So I truly appreciate when you guys interact with me ❤️.
I am also super proud of you for dedicating yourself to understanding your health better. Having PCOS is not easy or glamorous and sometimes we want to put it at the back of our mind. But I salute your dedication to learning and understanding your body, as it requires courage and the willingness to face our health issues. Cheers to that 🥂!
The Newsletter this year
In January 2023, I promised to write a newsletter every Sunday. One year later, we have about 51 newsletters in the archive. I have loved reading research and deepening my understanding of this condition. I am very proud of myself for the discipline and the consistency. It hasn’t always been easy, as I had to sacrifice time away from other things to dedicate it to the newsletter. However, it was worth it. It’s always easy to start things but incredibly hard to stick to them.
My goal was to have 500 subscribers by the end of the year, and I am happy to say we stand today at 535 🎉. This growth has been mainly organic, so I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing and supporting the newsletter.
The Newsletter next year
As for next year, the newsletter will continue to exist and enter your inbox on Sundays. I am still planning for next year and assessing the format, frequency and new projects. This is why I need your help. I would hugely be grateful if you can fill in the survey below:
My PCOS this year
As for my own PCOS this year, things have been mostly stable, apart from the last 3 months. Towards summer, I wanted to stop taking Inositol for a while to see if my body is able to manage PCOS without supplements. After stopping taking Inostiol and a long trip to Malta (where my diet wasn’t as great as it needed to be), my period went a bit wary. So in 2024, I will try new supplements and diet changes.
The best of 2023
If you catch yourself having some extra time during these holidays, these are the best posts of 2023:
Happy New Year, and see you in 2024. I hope you enjoy the last day of the year and feel recharged for the new year. Also, fine if you don’t! At the end of the day, it’s just another day of our lives. Don’t put too much pressure on having the perfect reflections and resolutions ❤️
